Towels are something no one can do without, but if there’s one thing about them that you couldn’t explain if asked – it’s their fine lines.

The woven strip at the ends of a towel has several functions; it keeps the towel in shape, it provides a fashioned look and it helps distinguish vast variety of different sized towels.

If you look it up online, there’s plentty of articles explaining this, but the people’s take is also intuitive.

“It allows the body of the towel to be wet and the ends won’t drip on the ground ( unless the towel is saturated). The water does not flow thru the deep pyle to the tight knit then to the deep pyle very quickly,” one person wrote on Reddit.
