The relationship between Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans and her eldest son, Jace, has been in the public eye since Jace’s birth was documented on MTV.

Over the years, their dynamic has shifted from a complicated custody arrangement between Jenelle and her mother, Barbara, to periods of living together, and eventually to highly publicized family turmoil during Jace’s adolescence.

When Jenelle appeared on 16 and Pregnant and the early seasons of Teen Mom 2, she struggled with substance use and personal challenges. As a result, primary custody of Jace was granted to Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans.

Jenelle has visited Jace at his mental health retreat for a weekend together.
