A Florida man’s reaction to a school waiver regarding the Pledge of Allegiance has caught the attention of thousands online.

Last Thursday, Micah Brienen shared on Facebook that his niece had brought home a form for parents to sign, which would allow their child to be excused from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The form read: “I understand my rights as a parent and I request that my child, noted above, be excused from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

This request includes standing and placing his/her right hand over his/her heart.”
